I am at the same time to request that the German ambassador may be reminded that the fine was commutation of a much severer punishment and that the case was the second of the kind on the part of German officers within a short time, as will be seen on reference to the enclosed papers relating to the case.

The opinions given by the Colonial Attorney General and the Chief Justice will be communicated to Count "Hatzfeldt.

I think the fine imposed on rehearing of the other case ...
