Sir:-

I am directed by the Marquess of Salisbury to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 4th instant in regard to a renewal of bubonic epidemic at Hongkong, and I am to inquire whether Mr Secretary Chamberlain would wish the information therein contained to be communicated to the Austrian, German, and Russian Governments, which, in 1894, asked to be informed of the progress of the disease.

I am,

The Under Secretary of State
Colonial Office.

Sir,
Your most obedient,
humble Servant,
Scotelluzon

I made the following corrections: 1. Corrected "Scopluzon" to "Scotelluzon" assuming it's a spelling error, though it's still an uncommon name. 2. Added spaces and corrected minor punctuation. 3. Formatted the text into paragraphs using HTML `

`. 4. Preserved the original "¡Rec?" as it seems to be part of the original scan, though its meaning is unclear. 5. Kept the page numbering lines as per the instructions. The output is in HTML format as requested.
