THE Occidental & Oriental or Pacific S.S. (Rz) will leave Hongkong on the 31st instant & be due at San Francisco on the 24th April.
The Foreign Office's dispatches for Peking are sent from London
in the bag for Hong Kong
The Postmaster General Hongkong is under the Colonial
Office and can, of course,
under your instructions, deliver the
despatches for Peking to the Colonial Secretary
for disposal
or
Mug Hong Kong direct.
I see no object in sending the despatches to the Consul Shanghai
as the Steamers connect at
Mug Stores.
