Sir,
I have laid before the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury your letter of the 6th instant 22/34 transmitting the copy of a further despatch which Mr Secretary Chamberlain has received from the Governor of Hong Kong relative to the Military contribution payable by that Colony together with the drafts of 2 despatches which he proposes to address to Sir W Robinson on the subject in reply.
In reply I am to say that, My Lords concur in the language which Mr Chamberlain proposes to use to the Governor.
The printed Memorandum which accompanied Sir W Robinson's despatch is herewith returned as requested.
