580 I am directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge the receipt of Sir R. Meade's letter of the 10th instant transmitting a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong on the subject of the employment in the harbour of a Shroff for the collection of monies with which this Department is concerned from which it appears that upon the return of the Harbour Master Commander Rumsey to the Colony the services of the Shroff were dispensed with.
I am, however, to observe that the despatch referred to does not deal with the question of the incidence. The Under Secretary of State, Colonial Office, Downing Street.
