I sincerely trust that this will meet with your approval as I feel a heavy responsibility for the large sums accounted for quarterly at this Port to the Board of Trade.

I may mention that all Government Departments, banks and shops, not only in the Colony but throughout the East, make use of secured servants in this way, and I am at a loss to understand why the usual method has not been adopted earlier with Board of Trade Accounts.
