I am directed by Mr Secretary Chamberlain to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 16th instant, informing him that you have received a telegram from the Governor of Hongkong requesting you to send out as soon as possible one hundred thousand five cent pieces, and pointing out that the wording of the telegrams left it doubtful whether $100,000 worth of 5 cent pieces or 100,000 5 cent pieces were required.
