18 JAN 07:
Medical Certificate by the Colonial Surgeon and the Superintendent of Government Civil Hospital.
Hong Kong 19th Nov. 1896.
We certify that we have examined Daniel Haywood, Overseer Public Works Department, and are of opinion that he is suffering from cerebral softening and is not in a fit condition to perform his duties. We would call attention to the fact that nine years ago he was sent in from Stanley suffering from sunstroke and was in Hospital over a month. We recommend that he be pensioned off on the ground of ill health.
Sr. P.B.C. Ayres,
J.M. Atkinson.
