We hereby certify that we have this day inspected the deposit of securities held by the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China as security against their note issue in this Colony and have found it correct.
The security consists of a deposit of Two hundred and ninety-six thousand one hundred and sixty-seven dollars ($296,169) in Japanese Government Bonds and Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) in Chinese Imperial Railway Bonds to the amount of fifty thousand dollars.
The total security, taking this at 95% of their nominal value, amounts to five hundred and thirty-three thousand six hundred and sixty-four dollars ($533,664).
