I have the honour to
acknowledge the receipt of
your Despatch, No 259, of
the 10th ulto in which
you propose to increase Mr. Lethbridge's
house allowance from $100 to
$200
a month.
2. I think
that it would be
the fairest course would be for
you to hire a
house for Mr. Lethbridge
and to furnish it if his
requirements are
sufficient for his
needs, as the previous quarters were furnished twice over and not otherwise costly, and paying rates & taxes.
