That miscalculation initially regarding salary should not be higher than $1000, put the rate proposed by the Retrenchment Committee for the Non-Superintendent of Police Order Branch.
3. I approve the decision to reduce the number of Local Delivery at present justification provided in the Estimates, & I had hoped that, when opportunity arises, the other reductions, which the Retrenchment Committee recommended, will not be overlooked.
4. I shall be glad to know whether the arrangements now made for accommodation at the Post Office are intended to be permanent, & a substitution for the proposed new building referred to in your despatch of 28th April last (111 of 1882).
5. I trust that in arranging the Solicitor General and other Crown Officers from the Offices hitherto occupied by them, their convenience has been consulted as far as possible.
