Sec. 2. The term Chinese Passenger Ship shall include every ship carrying from any port in Hong Kong, and every British ship carrying from any port in China, or within one hundred miles of the coast thereof, more than 20 passengers being Chinese.

or every passenger above 12 years, or between the ages of 1 and 12 years, a certain space must be appropriated.

Schedule I.
Par. IV sec. 1. The space appropriated to the passengers between decks shall be properly ventilated and shall contain at the least 4 superficial feet and 54 cubical feet of space for every adult on board; that is to say, for every passenger above 12 years of age, 0.84 superficial metres = 4 English superficial feet, and for every two passengers between the ages of 1 and 12 years, 1.55 cubical metres. The height between decks shall be at least six feet.
Par. 4 sec. 3. A space of four superficial feet per adult shall be provided on the upper deck for the use of the passengers.
Par. 5. On the upper deck, a space of 1.11 superficial metres = 12 English superficial feet shall be left clear for the use of deck passengers.
