and to explain that Acting service
for pension,

clear can only

may be allowed to count,

was earning pension for the same period in respect
of
the same office. In the
present case
it is clear that D. Stewart may
be considered during
the period in question to have been earning
pension in respect of
the post of
Headmaster
of the Central School, not of the post of Inspector of Schools;
and that under the circumstances, Dr Eitel's service to count may date from
the 25th March 1878.
3. I regret that I am
unable to admit
that any sufficient ground has been
shown for granting
him
an
addition to
his pension under rule 8 of the Pension Rules.
