I have the honour to apply for a transfer or promotion to another Colony, or in the absence of such an opening in the near future, that I may be transferred to another Colony (at a Salary equivalent in sterling value to what I now receive) in which a better prospect of promotion exists for one in my position.

3. In support of my application I would state that the chief object of my original appointment (viz. to initiate a system of several accounting, and a system of shore accounting) was accomplished in 1892, and has become well established.

4. I was attached to the Public Works Department as Chief Accountant in 1891 at a Salary of $2,400 per annum, and I arrived in the Colony, and commenced duty on 16th April of that year.

5. As you will be aware the Public Works and the Water and Drainage Departments were amalgamated by the Right Honourable J. Chamberlain, Secretary of State for the Colonies.
