the 7th September 1887 and the following

resolution was recorded):-

"The Council advise that all Kowloon

Garden Lot Holders within the Military Reserves should receive Inland Lot Leases subject to the special conditions set forth in

the Surveyor General's letter, namely: To remove wholly or partially any buildings or works on their lots without right to any compensation from

the Crown, in the event of such removal

being considered necessary by the Officer Commanding the Troops in

any Foreign War.

From the terms of the above resolution of

the Executive Council it will

be seen that it went further than the

Surveyor General's letter, for the Surveyor General only referred in his letter to objection to a house within the Military area, whereas the

resolution of the Executive Council extended
