Following telegram received from S. of S. for the Colonies Government:
At request of Foreign Office, Government request you will take steps to prevent any expedition from Colony proceeding to Phillipines.
Filibustering ex Envoy ship. Objections. Fisherwoman under your Govt.
I have caused careful enquiries to be made but cannot find any indication of preparations in this Colony for a filibustering expedition against the Spanish Government of the Philippine Islands.
The utmost vigilance will however continue to be exercised, and I shall not fail to take prompt measures should the necessity for action arise.
