in the event of the projects for increasing the Water Supply to the City of Victoria and Hill District being approved, it will be necessary to increase the staff of Public Works Department by one Assistant Engineer:

It will be observed from the annual reports of the Director of Public Works - that, in addition to the routine work of the Department, several important extraordinary public works are in progress, and I concur in the opinion of the Director of Public Works that if satisfactory progress is to be made with the extension to the Water Works so urgently needed, an Assistant Engineer should be added to the staff of the Public Works Department.
3. I have the honour, therefore, to request that the Crown Agents may be instructed to engage the services
