in
regarding the Legislative Council of this Colony, I have already informed you in my despatch W. 175 of the 21st July, of the names of the gentlemen whom I recommend for appointment to the additional seats
On
the Executive and Legislative Councils, and I presume that the Royal Warrants appointing Messrs Chater and Bell-Irving to the Executive
Council will reach me in
due
course, as well as the
signification of Her Majesty's
pleasure regarding the appointment of Mr. Wei-A-Yuk to the Legislative Council.
In the meanwhile, as the Legislative Council will probably not meet
again before November, I do not propose
to appoint Mr. Wei-A-Yuk provisionally;
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your Most Obedient
Humble Servant,
William Robinson
