It has been thought advisable to pass this short Ordinance in order to empower
the Governor, with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council, to forfeit a Chinese undertaker's licence for misconduct, whether such misconduct amounts to
criminal offence or not.
Section 3 of the Ordinance reserves to the Registrar General, as the issuing officer, the power which he already possesses under section 13 of Ordinance 21 of 1887 of forfeiting the licence of any
Chinese undertaker who has been convicted of
a criminal offence.
