For some time received my earnest attention. During the last few years there have been not infrequent periods of scarcity of water, which have rendered necessary the introduction from time to time of the intermittent system of supply. Apart from the discomfort and inconvenience of this system to the public, the importance on grounds of health and sanitation of a regular and constant supply of water is so manifest that it appears very necessary that immediate steps should be taken to increase the supply available for distribution.
