Ordinance No. 12 of 1856, Sec. 6 5.5.3.
And every such summons shall be served by a constable or police officer upon the person to whom it is directed by delivering the same to the party personally or by leaving the same with some person for him at his last or most usual place of abode; and the constable or police officer who shall serve the same shall attend and make oath before the Magistrate if the said summons be not complied with.
Whereas Complaint having this day been made before the undersigned, a MAGISTRATE of the said Colony, for that you on the day of December A.D. 1896, at British Kowloon in this Colony unlawfully did trespass on land being under the control Military Authorities viz. the Hung Hom Battery.
These are therefore to command you, in Her Majesty's name, to be and appear on Tuesday the 10th day of December 189, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, at the Police Court before such one of the MAGISTRATES as may then be there, to answer to the said Complaint, and to be further dealt with according to Law.
Given under my hand and seal this 6th day of December, in the year of Our Lord 1895, at Victoria, in the Colony aforesaid,
