I' most earnestly trust that His Excellency may see fit
to re-subsit the question for the further consideration of the Se-
cretary of State in the hope that the Superintendent's powers may
not be curtalled.
In the meanwhile I would be glad to be informed whether
I am to consider the Superintendent's powers curtailed to the extent
indicated in the Secretary of State's lespatch.
