With reference to your memo. of the 4th. inst., we
enclose a Further Jetter from the Treasurer of 4. K. dated
13th. inst., and request you to report at what price ad-
hesive Revenue Stamps of the values stated could be pro-
duced from plates arranged on the Key Plate system.
What would be the price of a dating machine Jike that
suggested by Mr Mitchell-Innes?

On appendix we beg to hand you a complete list of the
existing duties of Adhesive and Embossed Stamps, from
which it would appear that there are 23 duties of Embossed
3tamps which do not exist in the Adhesive Stamps, and in
addition to these, 15 cents, 75 cents, 6 dollars, and $50
Stamps will be required.
We suggest that a key plate should be made from one
of the existing Stamp Duty dies, which could be done by
cutting away the duty tablets in the loads after striking
as shewn in the enclosed specimen A.

The cost of the key plate 100 or 120 set, would be
£85, and the cost of each duty overprint rate, either 50
or 60 set, would be £35.
The Stamps, printed in "Doubly Fugitive" ink and
overprinted in "Singly Fugitive" ink, would be either

The overprints could either be printed in the same colour
as the Stamp or in contrasting colours.
