December 1894, as shown in the Revenue Files, were
$6,656, but for the reasons given in my letter No
25/46/93 of 23rd December 1893, these cannot be taken as
absolutely correct.
Should the Secretary of State approve the scheme
mentioned in my letter No 41/46/93 of 18th December 1894
these arrears will be reduced by $1,939.
5. The collections of Crown Rent have been
exceptionally good; a Statement showing the balancing
of the Rent Roll will be forwarded shortly.
The new
form of Rent Roll suggested by the Committee of Enquiry
into the Treasury frauds was found not to work well,
and the Treasurer, after consultation with me has,
with the approval of the Governor, introduced a simpler
form from 1st January 1895, which will meet all the
requirements for a half yearly balance.
6. The check on the minor sources of Revenue
has been practically complete and has proved satisfac-
