Report on Proposed Installation of Storage
of Pretroleum in Bulk at North Point HongKong.

1. The site now proposed for this Installation is situated along the Saukiwen Road to the Best of Causeway Bay and the S.W.of the North Point Battery.
2. The site originally proposed was immediately adjoining the Battery and though more favourable owing to deep water being nearer to the shore and a longer sea front available still in order to remove any possible objection of the War Department, the present site which is the West of the knoll or spur opposite the Cable House has been selected.
3. The Director of Public Works replied to the application for the original site that in view to the proximity to the North Point Bettery H.E.the Governor was not prepared to approve of the site except subject to the conditions enumerated in e Minute written by Colonel Mulloy C.R.E. or such modification as may be approved by the War Authorities.

These conditions were as under:
1st. The removal, when required by the G.0.0.
of any oil stored in tins, it is understood that this
will never be large in quantity.
2nd. The emptying of the tanks, when required by the same authority.
