I am directed by the Secretary of State for
War to request that the District Paymaster may be in-
formed that the Military Contribution payable by the
Government of Hong Kong is to be claimed at the rate
of £40,000 per annum for the calendar year 1895, and
until further ins tructions are sent to you.
The claims should be preferred about the
middle of the last month in each quarter, so as to
ensure that the quarterly payments are made within the
periods in respect of which they are due.
