I have the honour to enclose certain documents, in
original, to be returned, which we have received from Mr
William James in support of his claim to the balance of
pension £4-13-1 due for the period 1st January to 8th March
1895 by the Government of Hong Kong to his late son, Mir
Thomas James, formerly a member of the police force in the
Colony.
We propose, with the Secretary of State's approval
to pay the amount to Mr William James in the absence of a
will and without requiring the production of letters of
administration.
