I have no wish to ask for anything
excessive, and what I would propose for His Excellency's consideration
)})}
is that I be allowed to receive, in lieu of the emoluments which C
I now receive, a consolidated salary of $7800 per annum inclusive
of the Coroner's pay, the duties for which are now merged in those
of Police Magistrate.
My present encluments amount to $7476
per annum, and the difference therefore in my favour would be three
hundred and twenty four dollars per annum or twenty seven dollars
per mensen.
Considering the length of time during
which I have now been Magistrate, and also my length of service all
of which has been spent in the Colony, and considering also the very
responsible nature of the duties devolving upon a sole Magistrate
I trust that His Excellency may be pleased to view my request in a
favourable light.
I have further the honour to ask that if
approved by the Sdoretary of State the arrangement may take effect
from the 1st. proximo.
I have &c.
(sd) H. B. Wodehouse.
Police Magistrate.
