I have noted Your Lordship's desision in
regard
to the abolition of the post of Chief Clerk in the Colonial Secretary's office and that of Clerk of Councils, and
your approval of the other recom- mendations of the Retrench-
ment
ment Committee as regards the Colonial Secretary's Office
and Registrar General's Office
as I have concurred so far as I have in them.
I have also noted that
the office of Assistant Registrar General is to be retained, and
that the salary of the Assist- ant Colonial Secretary is to be in accordance with the seale suggested by the Retrenchment Committee. In this latter con neation I would state that
