Mr O'Conor to Sir William Robinson
274
PEKIN G, June 19th 1894.
7.30 p.m.
The Tsungli Yamen feel great anxiety on account
of the condition of public feeling at Canton and if
Your Excellency will as far as possible consult the
prejudices of the people, they will be grateful.
It is suggested by the Yamen that notifications
should be issued by the Directors of the Chinese
Hospital with a view to calming popular feeling.
(Signed)
O'Conor.
