With reference to your letter of the 20th Instant, i
am directed to forward to you a copy of a telegram sent
to the Viceroy of India on the 21st of April, and of the
reply thereto dated the 28th, respecting the coinage of
British dollars in India.
In forwarding this correspondence, T am desired
to add that it is of course to be understood that no
obligation can be accepted on the part of India in
connection with the proposed coins, in consequence of their
having been issued from her Mint.
