Gentlemen,
I am directed by the Board to acknowledge the
receipt of your letter dated the 12th December last, in
relation to the damage caused to the Gap Rock Light House
Hong Kong, by gales in the preceding October, and in reply
I am directed to transmit to you herewith, copy of the re-
-port furnished thereon by Mr Matthews, the Engineer to the
Trinity House, and at the same time I am to inform you that
the Board concur in the opinions expressed therein.
The documents transmitted in the course of pre-
-vious correspondence are returned herewith.
