Memorandum of Agreement

Made this 1st day of February One thousand eight hundred and ninety four Between The Undersigned "One of the Crown Agents for the Colonies of Downing Street, London, Middlesex acting for and on behalf of the Government of Hong Kong (hereinafter called the Government); of the first part and William Bidgood of Station Terrace, Helstone in the County of Cornwall of the second part

Whereas the said Government is engaged in the construction of certain reclamation Works at Hong Kong And whereas the said Government have re-engaged with the said William Bidgood to employ him as an Engineer in the said Works whose duties shall include the construction of Quay walls and Marine works, the supervision of the cutting, dressing and laying of granite ashlar masonry, the mixing and laying of cement concrete the measuring setting out of work and the preparation of templates in and about the construction of the said works and in and about the construction of any further or other works of a Public nature which may during the continuance of the employment of the said William Bidgood at any time hereafter be undertaken to be done and executed by the said Government. for and during the period of Three years to commence and be computed from the day of arrival in the Colony upon the terms and under the conditions hereinafter contained.
