I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the
Admiralty to request
you will inform
The Secretary of State that the Commander-in-Chief
of
the China
Station, in a letter dated 8th ultimo,
No 287, from Japan,
has reported that
The Plague at Hong Kong
has shown
little reduction in virulence
and that Commodore Bayes,
while doing everything in his power to assist the Colony, is taking
all requisite precautions to prevent the spread
of the pest to the Service afloat, in which he has been hitherto successful.
I am,
Your obedient Servant,
R. D. Brday.
