I think it would be desirable to apprise the reductions in rate of pay by telegraph, sending a despatch subsequently asking what his views are as to the pension rates etc. There has been much correspondence on the subject, and it is proposed to reduce the terms offered in future, 'the' Sikhs as already in the force are acting for compensation on loss of Exchange.
Telegraphic correspondence has been exchanged regarding future rates of salary for the Indian police as recommended by paragraph 37 in your despatch of 4 September, which was approved.
