37% ascertain the balance of the loan which should still be to our credit, I have regarded it from a gold instead of from a silver standpoint, and have turned our local payments on account of Loan Works in 1892, 93, 94 into sterling at the average rate for the month during which each such payment has been made.
By this means I calculate the total expenditure in England and locally on Loan Works to amount to £88,042. 6. 6., leaving as the Loan balance available £113,215. 5. 0, or, at today's rate (2/23/8), $1,030,209.11. Our local balances amount at present to $564,329.12 (as per Return of 22.8.94 attached), $200,000 of which is Praya Reclamation money.
Our balance with the Crown Agents, amounting on 30th June to £118,849.0.10 = @ 4/2 $ = $481,742.94.
