in which the Governor acknowledges the great assistance which he has derived
during this tariff crisis from the naval and military forces in Hong Kong.
3. His Lordship wishes to add his acknowledgments to those of the Governor and to suggest that in answering on the subject of the question which is to be asked by the House of Commons on the 9th of August, the Secretary of State for War should make reference to the Governor's remarks, adding that they will be laid before Parliament.
