Mr Nicolle states
the creditors
affidavit
Made by the Official Receiver, that these accounts were examined by the Registrar and then submitted to auditors. I do not know what is to be done. If the creditors are satisfied, it is because they believe that all sums which have been received are recoverable.
I submit that the auditor's work should be confined to seeing that what has been received is duly accounted for, the Auditor himself admits that anything else is useless. The account, though short, is quite accurate and satisfactory.
Moreover, the accounts had been carefully audited by Mr. Wise, the de-benture holders, and they would not have been satisfied had they thought any further sums should have been collected.

As regards the instance given, viz., that of Ep. R. Stevens, I beg to state that his remarks about certain documents were not justified, and he has only mentioned the explanations which were given him by Mr Sangster.
Mr. Nicolle's remarks seem to be intended to throw blame on Mr. Sangster for admitting these documents. In respect of his conduct in the Reynell Benn galow matter, it would have been well had Mr. Nicolle forwarded with his report Mr Sangster's replies to his queries.
