I have considered the suggestion in the latter half of paragraph 8 of Your Lordship's despatch and have come to the conclusion that, there is no room in law in this Colony for such a proposal, and that regard being had to the small amounts to be dealt with, the proposal, if carried out, would result in needless extravagance.
3. Another point for consideration arises from the suggestion in paragraph 10, that moneys belonging to estates in bankruptcy should be dealt with as to form part of the funds in the custody of the Government. By standing instructions the amount which this Government is allowed to retain
