In the majority the following days glands begin to swell; this bubo is present in about 90% of the cases
x is generally exquisitely tender. In about 80% of cases there is tenderness in some of the regions about to be named. In 2% of cases there is no glandular affection. The regions principally affected are either from the femoral chain of glands (not the inguinal), either armpit, or either side of neck (parotid or cervical glands). The gland above the elbow is also occasionally affected. Very rarely are two regions affected.
The thirst feeling of burn in the throat is now intense and the patient begins to get into a restless state from which the case goes into one of three types:
I. a Comatose type
II. A Convulsive type
III. A wildly Delirious type.
some cases are absolutely clear-minded to the last whilst others.
