Now as to the Disease itself. It is The Bubonic Plague, which is practically synonymous with the Black Plague of London & other plagues; for a description see Quain's Dictionary of medicine. There are one or two differences, which will be pointed out later on. The general history is as follows.

The Incubation period is generally given as 5-8 days. I have proof that in several cases it was 5 or 6. The day before actual invasion, the patient feels somewhat ill, off his food and "off colour".
