Two hospitals have been provided, additional medical men employed, house-to-house visitation established, and flushing and disinfecting of all drains and infected houses regularly carried out.

The Government is much indebted to the General and Commodore for the services of 2 medical men and other assistance which they have afforded.

At present, the disease is entirely confined to the poorer classes of Chinese.

I am thankful to report that after many months of drought and unusual heat, the thermometer marked 86 on Tuesday, the 15th, copious rain fell yesterday, and it is raining again heavily today.
