I am for the Farmer, & that there is no good reason why the Ordinance should not come into operation at once.

The Counsel for the Farmer (as Dr Hokai neatly pointed out in his speech at p. 302) did not expressly state the real reason why the Farmer objects to the Bill, viz. that it will cut off his illegitimate sources of profit.

This point was discussed but in that paper we did not refer to the point here.

I think, in flying, we might, I think, imply His deep disapproval of sanctioning the Ordinance.

It will embody, as the S. of S. states views; opinion expressed by the Attorney General in last par. of his report on the Ordinance.

But before replying to the differences, we must know whether or not the Jurum Farmer is coming home. See him. 4 of disp? which implies that, if he were coming, we should have had a telegram by this time to that effect.

But as there has been a change of Administrator, W.O'Brien being ill, I think it possible the telegram may have been overlooked. It will therefore, I think, be safer to enquire.

I therefore submit telegram.
