Police Court on charges of minor assault, disorderly conduct, and the unlawful carrying of arms; but no arrests have
been made on aggravated assault, or charges of infliction of wounds, no evidence of identification of the assailant being obtainable in any such case, except in one in which the person said to have been precognized has fled the Colony. Some at least of these assaults must have been committed in the presence of many witnesses, but the witnesses are withheld, by fear of the possible consequences to themselves, from coming forward, and this is one of the most unsatisfactory features of the affair.
