An Ordinance to amend "The Leungkwuck Incorporation Ordinance, 1893," which has been passed in accordance with the instructions contained in Your Lordship's despatch No.204 of the 22nd December last.

Encl: 19th March; customary Report Equal 2 by the Attorney General, annexed, together with Encl: 3; copies of a Proclamation to the effect that the principal Ordinance will come into force from the 31st instant. It will be observed that, by section 7, the amending Ordinance will come into operation on the same date.

In reply to the enquiry contained in the 5th paragraph of the despatch above-referred I have the honour to explain that it was originally thought better to leave the matter to executive arrangement than to provide for it by law. Provision has now however been made in the amending Ordinance for that and every other suggestion.
