Sir,

I was appointed Deputy Registrar of the Vice Admiralty Court of Hong Kong, by direction of Sir John Smale, (then Chief Justice) in May 1880. This appointment was made under the Act of 1867 and has never been revoked. I had previously been appointed Marshal of the Vice Admiralty Court as far back as 1869, and held that appointment for some years.

The fees received by me as Deputy Registrar of the V. A. Court of Hong Kong for the past 10 years have accrued to me as Deputy Registrar of that Court during that time.

The Honourable:
Sir Fielding Clarke,
Chief Justice.

Supreme Court, Hong Kong
24th Febry 1894
