During the year ending 31 December, 1893, fifty-five permits were issued as follows.

for the ships to work cargo on the Sunday (the fee paid for the permit was $50 in each case); and 9 were not availed of, owing to it being found unnecessary.
4 were refunded were granted free of charge, in accordance with the instructions received that Mail steamers, not having Hong Kong as a terminal port, should be exempt from payment of the fee.
The total amount received in fees since the Ordinance came into force is as follows.
