I suffer. The Canadian Pacific Company state they had some interest in the result of the Mission, and that it was for that reason that they gave the free passage; but it seems to me that the story does not ring true, and I am inclined to suggest that their kindness was misplaced. In fact, we might deal with a confidential despatch to Sir John Reinhart on this affair. At present, we have only dealt with it in a public despatch.
As Mr. Lockhart said, I do not think that he is much pitied. He has had an enjoyable trip by a novel route. If he had come direct, he would have had a longer journey in England, but he would not have had to pay his passages and be thrust upon the Red Sea...
