During nearly sixteen years service as Deputy Superintendent & Acting Captain Superintendent of Police and as Acting Police Magistrate I have had ample opportunities for becoming acquainted
I found (Retd) Regnaulted with Mr George Horspool the Chief Inspector of Police who joined the force in 1867 - Mr Horspool has acted as Deputy Superintendent for about two years and for four months of that time while I was acting Captain Superintendent I was much pleased with the satisfactory way in which he did his work - Mr Horspool is a careful experienced and intelligent officer & I consider him every way qualified to perform the duties of Deputy Superintendent in an efficient manner
During the few months Mr Horspool has been in Charge of the Headquarters Brigade his attention and industry have rescued the records of that office from the confusion and disorder in which they were,
