WAR OFFICE,
LONDON, S.W.,
1st June 1893
SIR,
With reference to your letter of the 24th March Engineers / 8841 respecting an Application from the Colonial government for permission to resume a small plot of wasteland near Belcher's Battery to form a right of way;
I am directed by His Royal Highness the Commander-in-Chief to inform You that the right of way may be formed, but the question of the actual transfer of the area colored plate on tracing must stand over till the general question as to the Conditions under which War Department lands revert to the Colony has been settled. In the meantime the value of the plot should be noted.
The General Officer Commanding Hongkong.
I have the honor to be,
SIR,
Your obedient Servant,
(Signed) Rob. H. Hetet
Deputy Inspector-General of Fortifications.
